1. MBB CONVENTION:  YOU ARE INVITED!

The 5 th Annual MBB National Convention will be held the weekend of September 5-7, 2008.  The site will be the beautiful Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center at the Delaware Water Gap, off Route 80 West (see www.Tuscarora.org ).   This weekend will feature MBBs from around the nation and the world coming together for fellowship, worship and encouragement.  You are welcome to join us! 

JFM Network is providing the logistical support for the event.  Please contact us if you, or someone you know, would like to volunteer at the convention.  We also have an urgent need for those who can provide financial scholarships for MBBs who would otherwise be unable to attend. Please pray for this monumental event…
- that in conjunction with the theme of "Discipleship, the Road to Maturity in Christ" the Lord will speak clearly to all who attend.
    - for a good number of MBBs to come and to be greatly blessed and encouraged in the Lord.
    - for God's anointing on those who speak, give testimonies, lead meetings and worship, and who serve in other ways.
    - for the Lord's provision of funds needed (travel, conference expenses, etc.) by those who should come. 
    - for good health and safety during the conference and in travel to and from the conference.      

2.    JFM ENGLISH LANGUAGE FELLOWSHIP MEETING IN FLUSHING

Jesus For Muslims Network provides a monthly fellowship meeting in English for MBBs and Christian workers.  This is a wonderful time of worship, celebration, prayer and encouragement.  A monthly message focuses on helping MBBs become spiritual overcomers in Christ. 

Our first meeting at our new location, First Baptist Church, Flushing, NY was held Sunday, July 6 th.  We had people from Nigeria, Iran, Uzbekistan, Guyana, Bangladesh, Korea, China, and the USA in attendance!

The August meeting will be held on Sunday, August 24 th.  The meeting will be held in the #2 Annex of First Baptist Church, 142-10 Sanford Ave., Flushing, NY 11355.  The meeting time is 4:30 pm.  Please bring a dish to pass as a fellowship meal will be shared after the meeting.  Parking is available at the church.  If coming by train, take the #7 train to Flushing.   All are welcome to attend.  For more information, please contact us. 

3.    JESUS FILM DVD OUTREACH CONTINUES TO GROW:  

We praise God that over 35,000 Jesus Film DVDs have distributed to local Muslims this year at a variety of ethnic festivals, parades, and neighborhood celebrations.  Over 5,000 were given out in the month of July.  This included a special “Welcome to America” outreach in Queens on Fourth of July, and two Arabic festivals in Brooklyn.  (As an example of what God is doing, one of our volunteers approached and Arabic man and woman at a festival on July 20th.  They were sitting at a festival stall; the woman had a full Islamic head covering.  The man said, “You should give her the DVD.  She likes to watch or listen to anything about Jesus Christ.”

4.    BROOKLYN ARAB AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP CENTER AWARDS YEAR-END CERTIFICATES

Dr. George Kelsey, BAAFC Board President, shares this update:  “This month I had the privilege to attend the awarding of the certificates to our friends, the ladies who had studied at the Center over the past school year.  BAAFC Director Dr. Fadia presided over the ceremony.   There must have been at least fifty ladies who received certificates. Each expressed in such a wonderful way her gratitude and love to the staff, volunteers and supporters of the Center. One said she couldn't imagine living without the center. Another said she didn't want to leave! The experience was priceless and I rejoiced that we have such an important part to play in the lives of these women and indirectly their families.”

5.    NEW LIFE SOUTH ASIAN LEARNING CENTER

The "New Life South-Asian Learning Center" continues its ministry of ESL classes and other activities in Jackson Heights, Queens. About 60 students are participating. 6.    JFM PRAYER MEETINGS IN AUGUST:

  • CT:  Prayer Fellowship, Saturday, August 23 rd at 4:30 pm.  Please contact us for more details.

Note: No prayer meeting in NJ in August. All are welcome to attend any of these meetings, all of which need strengthening by the participation of committed intercessors.
